Romaine  Moreton,

Romaine Moreton was born in 1969 and is from the Goernpil people of Stradbroke Island and the Bundjulung people of northern New South Wales. She is a writer of poetry, prose, and film with a PhD in philosophy from the University of Western Sydney. She has published two anthologies of her poetry, Post Me to the Prime Minister (2004) and The Callused Stick of Wanting (1996). Her films Redreaming the Dark and Cherish were both selected for the fringe program at the Cannes Film Festival in 1998. A third film, A Walk With Words (2004), won the award for Best International Short Film at the World of Women Film Festival.
