Horacio Larrain Barros,

Born in Santiago, Chile, in 1929, Horacio Larrain Barros lives in Iquique. His particular focus is in anthropogeography and eco-anthropology. From 1974 to 1981, he taught at the Catholic University, Santiago, and since 1997 until now he has been engaged in fog studies at Alto Patache, Iquique. He has published five books and more than 450 articles dealing with the ecoanthropology and ethnohistory of the North Chilean desert.
