Toril Johannessen was born in 1978, grew up in Harstad, Norway, and lives in Bergen. She has had solo exhibitions at Bergen Kunsthall NO.5 (2010) and the Oslo Fine Art Society (2009), and participated in group exhibitions at Witte de With, Rotterdam (2011), the Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna (2011), the Kunsthall Oslo, Bergen Art Museum (2010), SMART Project Space, Amsterdam (2010), and the Hasselblad Center, Gothenburg (2009).
