Walid Raad was born in 1967 in Chbanieh, Lebanon, and lives in New York, where he is Associate Professor of Art at the Cooper Union. Solo exhibitions have been held at the Kunsthalle Zürich (2011), Whitechapel Gallery, London (2010), Culturgest, Lisbon (2007), and the Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin (2006). Raad has participated in Home Works (2005, 2009), Documenta11 (2002), and the Whitney Biennial (2002, 2000).
