ai weiwei release petition

On April 3, internationally acclaimed Chinese artist Ai Weiwei was
detained at the Beijing airport while en route to Hong Kong, and his
papers and computers were seized from his studio compound.  As of
April 20, he is still in custody.

As both a response to the chilling effect this situation has imposed
on artistic freedom, and out of general concern for Ai’s liberty, the
Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation launched a petition calling for the
artist’s release, addressed to the Ministry of Culture of the People's
Republic of China (Minister Mr. Cai Wu).  Please join the Guggenheim,
dOCUMENTA (13), and over 100,000 other signatories in this plight.
