Adriana Lara, Art Film 1: Ever present yet ignored, 2006

Through the trope of a fictions exhibition of “fake” artworks, this film stages various obstructions between the art/spectator relationship. One form of confrontation can be found in the films eschewing of color for black and white. However common this device may be, the desaturated image masks information such as color, materiality and so on. Likewise, the script seems to stem from a single discourse, yet the dialogue is sourced from various Pre-Socratic texts, used without attribution, and translated into Italian.
