Abul Qasem Foushanji was born in 1987 in Afghanistan, grew up in Iran, and currently lives in Kabul. He was trained in realist painting, but today he works with painting, installation, and photography. He has taken part in several exhibitions in Kabul and was nominated for the Afghan Contemporary Art Prize (2009). He is a member of the artists’ association ROSHD (meaning “to grow” in Dari).
