Anri Sala was born in 1974 in Tirana, Albania, and lives in Berlin. He has had solo exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou, Paris (2012), the Serpentine Gallery, London (2011), and the Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati (2008–09). Sala has participated in the Bienal de São Paulo (2010), the Göteborg International Biennial (2007), the Biennale of Sydney (2006), the Berlin Biennale (2006), and the Biennale di Venezia (2003, 2001, 1999).
