Javier Téllez was born in 1969 in Valencia, Venezuela, and lives in New York and Berlin. His work has been shown in solo exhibitions at MARCO, Vigo (2010–11), Museu Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisbon (2010), the Kunstverein Braunschweig (2009), and the Aspen Art Museum (2006). He has participated in the Biennale de Lyon (2011), Dublin Contemporary (2011), and, in 2008, the Biennale of Sydney, Manifesta 7, and the Whitney Biennial.
