Julia Moritz is an art historian and cultural theorist as well as Head of Maybe Education and Public Programs at dOCUMENTA (13). She taught at the University of Lüneburg, where she was also organizing exhibitions and events at the university’s art space. In the course of her postgraduate studies in Vienna, New York and Bilbao she wrote a dissertation on current questions on art and its institutions.
She previously worked for exhibitions such as Manifesta 7 in Trentino/Alto Adige (2008) and the German Pavilion at the 52th Biennale di Venezia (2007). The volume The Question of the Day, (2007), co-edited with Nicolaus Schafhausen and published by Sternberg Press gives an insight into Moritz’ ongoing conversational inquiry into the conditions of production and reception of art.
