Dealing with the Era of National Socialism – A Regional Study of a Crime in the Final Phase of World War II. Methods of Researching

dOCUMENTA (13) presents a slide show created in 1981 by historian Gunnar Richter as a component to his PhD thesis on the Breitenau memorial site, of which he is Director. The continuous presentation takes place in a garden house in Karlsaue park, close to the road that leads to Breitenau from Kassel’s inner city, connecting the two sites both spatially and spiritually. Each day of the exhibition, Richter is on site to talk to visitors about questions relating to Breitenau, some of which may derive from his guided walks to the memorial.

Every Wednesday at 11:45 am, Richter leads guided tours to Breitenau. They depart from the Spohr Memorial in front of the C&A Department Store in the center of Kassel.
