Vevnad

Vevnad (Weaving) is an experimental music piece by Norwegian composer Arne Nordheim that is performed twice a day during the opening week of dOCUMENTA (13) by musicians Sverre Riise, Hans Josef Groh, and Asbjørn Blokkum Flø. Composed in 1993 as a homage to artist Hannah Ryggen, whose politically engaged tapestries are included in the exhibition, the piece is played by a trio of trombone, violoncello, and disklavier, an instrument whose inner mechanics resemble a shuttle moving through a loom.
