Wittgenstein Goes Classic

In this group of concerts paying tribute to the Austrian-British philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein, the experimental Finnish musician M.A. Numminen performs his works Verliebte Philosophen, Fragen an Ludwig Wittgenstein, and Tractatus Suite, a musical reference to Wittgenstein’s Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus of 1921. Numminen’s wide-ranging musical repertoire crosses genre boundaries; during his long career, he has successfully merged high and low culture into an idiosyncratic mix.
