Alejandro Zambra was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1975 and cur- rently lives in Santiago, where he teaches literature at Diego Portales University. He is the author of the essay collection No leer (2010) and of the poetry collections Bahía Inútil (1998) and Mudanza (2003). His most recent books are Formas de volver a casa (2011), The Private Lives of Trees (2010 [2007]), and his most acclaimed novel, Bonsai (2008 [2006]).
