Christian Kuhtz, born in 1958, lives in Kiel. He is an inventor, constructor, and designer of eco-friendly energy solutions, such as wind turbines, solar panels, solar heating walls, clay-brick heaters, compost toilets, and half-timber clay houses, made to allow do-it-yourself reproductions of the designs. For years he has advised on projects in the surrounding area as well as in Africa and southeastern Europe and published his series Einfälle statt Abfälle with manuals and illustrations.
