Gareth Moore was born in 1975 in Matsqui, Canada, and currently lives in Kassel. There have been solo exhibitions at the International Project Space, Birmingham (2012), the Bielefelder Kunstverein, Germany (2011), and the CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, San Francisco (2008). In 2010, he participated in the Biennale de Montréal, and in 2009, he was an artist-in-residence at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin.
