Born 1943 in Shoreham, England, Ian Wallace lives in Vancouver, Canada. He has taught at the University of British Columbia from 1967 to 1970, and the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design from 1972 to 1998. He has exhibited painting and photography since 1965, and has had numerous exhibitions in Canada, the USA, and Europe, with works in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa. A recent solo show was organized by the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Düsseldorf, Witte de With, Rotterdam, and Kunsthalle Zürich (2008/09).
