Susan Hiller was born in the U.S. and began her artistic career in London in the early 1970s, when she first became known for an innovative artistic practice including installations, videos, texts, books, events, drawings, and photographs. Her work is an investigation into the “unconscious” of our culture. Hiller exhibits internationally; she is often cited as a major influence on younger artists.
