Zolaykha Sherzad,

Zolaykha Sherzad, born in Kabul, grew up in Switzerland and works in New York and Kabul. Trained as architect, she co-founded ARX New York, an architecture practice. Since 2001, Sherzad has focused on rebuilding her homeland and is founder of School of Hope, an organization supporting education. In 2004, she created Zarif Design, a clothing line that employs Afghan people and combines Central Asian craftsmanship with contemporary Design.
