a place—near the buried canal

For dOCUMENTA (13) Canadian artist Gareth Moore has developed an installation that includes a small cabin in which he has lived permanently since early spring 2011, as well as several adjoining buildings that serve different functions. It is located in the maintenance area of Kassel’s Karlsaue park. Visitors are welcome to experience some of the results and dynamics of the still ongoing process of recycling and construction, which will last more than a year and which completely erases the boundaries between art and life. The project includes a pension where people can stay overnight, as well as a kiosk, an inter-faith temple, and a small open-air cinema.
