La Lutherie

From April until September 2012, sound artist Tarek Atoui holds a range of open workshops with pupils, as well as students of fine arts, design, and engineering, at La Lutherie, an area of the Orangerie (the first floor above the café) that Atoui has turned into a studio, workshop, and performance venue. The space becomes a platform to imagine, discuss, learn, and build all sorts of instruments relating to music and performance. Parallel to these workshops, the space is activated as a discussion platform for artists, theoreticians, engineers, and researchers on the subjects of instruments, performance, body, and sound.
