Ida Applebroog was born in 1929 in the Bronx, N.Y., and lives in New York. Her work is in the permanent collections of numerous museums, including Whitney Museum, the Guggenheim Museum, MoMA, and the Metropolitan Museum, New York. She has received awards including the MacArthur Foundation Fellowship (1998) and the Lifetime Achievement Award, College Art Association (1995).
