Issa Samb was born in 1945 in Senegal and lives in Dakar. He is a co-founder of the group Laboratoire Agit-Art and the Gallery TENQ—Village des Arts in Dakar. A retrospective has been held at the National Art Gallery, Dakar (2010). His group exhibitions have included the Kunsthaus Graz (2011–12), the Whitechapel Gallery, London (1995), and the Biennale de Dakar (2008). Samb writes plays, poems, and essays.
