Nanni Balestrini, born in 1935 in Milan, is a poet, author, and visual artist living in Rome and Paris. In the 1960s he was a member of the literary groups Novissimi and Gruppo 63, which united writers of the new avant-garde. He has published numerous lyrics and novels such as Caosmogonia (2010), Tristano (2009), and Sandokan (2009), and exhibited his work at MACRO, Rome (2004), and the Biennale di Venezia (1993).
