Sanja Iveković was born in 1949 in Zagreb and lives there. Recent solo exhibitions have included MoMA, New York (2011–12), the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven (2009), Muzeum Sztuki, Lodz (2007), the Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne (2007), and Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Barcelona (2007). Iveković has participated in the Gwangju Biennale (2010), documenta 12, 11, and 8 (2007, 2002, 1987), and the Istanbul Biennial (2009, 2007).
